On Saturday, November 21st, Hangar 9 is thrilled to welcome Springfield, IL’s own Sunshine Daydream.
Since 2013, Sunshine Daydream has specialized in performing the music of the Grateful Dead and the Jerry Garcia Band in a refreshing, high-energy, up-tempo style. Having mastered hundreds of songs in the Dead's legendary repertoire, they design every single set to satisfy lifelong Deadheads and casual listeners alike.
These songs are performed exactly as they were intended: hard-hitting, always danceable, and full of psychedelic, innovative jams. You can also expect some incredible, select covers from bands like the Allman Brothers, Phish, and Widespread Panic.
Come out and support one of Illinois' premier tribute acts for a night of incredible music and community!

The SIU Alumni Association and friends are celebrating the newest Salukis for Life at Hangar 9 on Saturday, May 9, immediately following Southern Illinois University's commencement ceremonies, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
This free-to-attend event features live music, Winston Bagels, and a photo booth to commemorate your accomplishments. The Association will even buy the first drink for all of our new grads!
We will also be giving away a Jostens Class Ring to a lucky new graduate! Graduates must be present to win.

The Next Chapter Starts Summer 2026
Hangar 9 is projected to pause operations beginning May 30, 2026 as we move into Phase 2 renovations. Major upgrades are ahead, and we’ll be back August 2026, just in time for the fall semester!
