Hangar 9 is honored to host the legendary, GRAMMY-Award winning The Dirty Dozen Brass Band for an exclusive performance!

Celebrating over four decades since their founding in 1977, The Dirty Dozen is globally credited with revitalizing the entire brass band tradition. At a time when traditional New Orleans brass music was waning, the band injected the sound with bold influences from Bebop Jazz, Funk, R&B/Soul, and Rock. This unique, high-octane blend—often described as a "musical gumbo"—revolutionized the genre, creating the blueprint for nearly every contemporary brass band that followed.

The ensemble’s fearless innovation has led to collaborations with a staggering range of music icons, including Dizzy Gillespie, Elvis Costello, Norah Jones, Modest Mouse, Buddy Guy, and Widespread Panic. They have toured across five continents, recorded nearly 20 albums (including the influential "My Feet Can't Fail Me Now" and "Voodoo"), and performed at every major festival worldwide.
